Club members met at the Glen Park Pavilion to enjoy pizza, visiting and installing our 2021-22 president, Jason Frederickson. A big thank you to everyone who kept our club afloat during a historic and turbulent time.
It was a time to celebrate the presidency of JW Matheson and pass the gavel to the incoming River Falls Rotary president Jason Fredrickson.
JW led during an unprecedented year, but managed to keep spirits up with his hilarious puns and ability to adapt to change. His service above self is appreciated by all club members and we look forward to another great year ahead of us!
River Falls Rotary would like to thank all the board members, volunteers, and everyone who has helped throughout this crazy Rotary year. Congrats again to JW and best of luck to Jason!

I want to thank everyone who attended the club picnic last Tuesday. It was great to see so many people come out! As I transition into the role of your President, I realize I have some big shoes to fill. J.W. was a terrific leader through a very difficult year. While the year looked nothing like he had imagined it would when he accepted the role some 3 years ago, I think we can all agree it was a success! Thank you J.W. for all you did for our club this past year!
My hope is that we can continue to build upon the groundwork that has been laid by past leaders and get back to some of the projects we were unable to participate in last year. I also have visions of new offerings of which more will be laid out at a later date. This club is full of good people who want to do good things for their community, let's show the River Falls Community what we are capable of!
Regarding this week's programs, we have two as you can see. The first is an update from Tom Bentz on a project to refurbish the benches at Veterans Park which are in disrepair. The second will be a presentation from Ann Searles, Executive Director of the St. Croix Valley Food Bank. The St. Croix Valley Food Bank is a 501(c)(3) based in Hudson, that serves communities in St. Croix, Pierce, Burnett and Polk counties. With a projected 9,800 households having food insecurity in western Wisconsin, they have a goal of providing 6 million pounds of food in 2021 to those in need.
