About the Presentation:  Megan Franklin shared the story of how Minty Apron started. The business is about to transition from a home-based "cottage" bakery into a designer cookie business soon to move into its own commercial cookie studio. She talked about the goals and milestones she established, the opportunities that are helping her to grow the business, and how getting involved in the local business community is playing a role in that growth. She shared how resources like the St. Croix Valley Business Innovation Center has helped her to make great connections and take the next steps, along with experiences like participating in Taste of the Valley and other community events. Two highlights from her presentation:  she showed us a slide with a video of Minty Apron's "edible ink printer" at work, and she provided cookie samples, including some with the Rotary wheel logo. Click READ MORE to read about Megan.

About the Speaker:  Megan Franklin is the owner and cookie decorator behind Minty Apron, a River Falls-based custom cookie business she started in 2024. She is a Luther College alum with a degree in Business Management and Dance. Before Minty Apron, she worked in sales for a Fortune 100 company before transitioning to being a stay-at-home mom and high school dance team coach.  She is a self-taught baker and cookie decorator, and Minty Apron began as a creative outlet that combined her love of baking with her interest in business, marketing and design. What started at her kitchen table has continued to grow, and she is currently preparing to open Minty Apron’s first commercial cookie studio in River Falls.

Outside of Minty Apron, Megan is wife and mom of four, so life is usually a mix of family, cookies, sports and community involvement! She also serves as President of the Greenwood Elementary PTO and really enjoys being involved in the River Falls community, connecting with other local business owners, and finding creative ways to bring people together.
