Partnership in Action: Rotary and ShelterBox: ShelterBox started as a Rotary Club project and today is a large global humanitarian organization that has served over 1 million people in over 100 countries. We are the official Rotary International Project Partner in Humanitarian Disaster Relief. Today's presentation will take you through the history of ShelterBox, show updates in the ShelterBox operations, share the most recent deployments, and discuss the Rotary/ShelterBox relationship.
About the Speaker: Renee Brouse serves as the Rotary Relations Manager for ShelterBox USA, where she partners with Rotarians, Rotary Clubs, and Districts across the country to strengthen relationships and advance the ShelterBox mission of providing emergency shelter to families affected by disaster. With over 30 years of nonprofit experience, Renee has dedicated her career to supporting communities both locally and globally. A passionate Rotarian for more than 20 years, she has held numerous leadership roles, including serving as District Governor for District 5100. Renee also owns her own Coaching and Consulting business: helping others discover their best selves, and she is an active community volunteer, which includes serving as an elected official for the City of Sherwood, Oregon.
Renee is a graduate of Indiana University, holding a BA in Political Science and Spanish with an emphasis in International Studies and an MBA from Kennedy Western University. She is guided by her core values of belief, responsibility, lifelong learning, empathy, and service. Outside of her work, she is a proud mother of two and a joyful Lala (grandmother), with two energetic grandsons and a brand new granddaughter.
