About the Presentation: Dr. Sanocki's slides can be viewed by clicking DOWNLOAD FILES below. While brief, her presentation gave us a very good, very impressive picture of how physical therapy serves public school students. Click READ MORE to read about MiKayla.
CRUTCH TIME; I mean crunch time. Over the weekend of 6/6 and 7, Jim DiPeso will lead a team of people to load the U-Haul and get our contributions to the collection point. Having at least 2 RF Rotarians at Stillwater for the loading is another way our club can contribute. Please step up! Jimdipeso@gmail.com
Angie Whitaker and Pam Bowen started by saying that they have both worked for UWRF for 20+ years. They defined continuing education at UWRF as the opportunity to learn beyond traditional degree programs, providing learning designed to fit into people’s lives. Programs are generally shorter than degree-oriented courses, they sometimes conclude with a certificate, and they can be in-person or online. Programs are practical and immediately useful, and they mainly serve working professionals, career changers, educators, local organizations and employers, and youth.
Continuing education supports workforce development, leadership capacity, and it helps to keep and attracts business. UWRF offers partnerships, both internal and external. Also program mgt to focus on developing specific skillsets. Click READ MORE to read the rest and to read more about Angie and Pam.

Uli and his host brother Alex gave us a very good sense of what Camp RYLA was like and how they benefitted from it. Uli's slides are below, and this summary can't do justice to their enthusiasm about their experiences. Here's a brief day-by-day summary. Day 1 consisted of introductory, getting-to-know-you activities, including some planning for the days ahead. Day 2 included a range of outdoor and indoor physical activities. Day 3 focused more on the leadership, teamwork, and problem solving development aspects of Camp RYLA. As a sidebar, Uli got to meet and get a photo with a World Cup soccer player). Day 4 included more teamwork exercises and presentations what the various "color" teams concluded. Day 5 was the wrapup and opportunity for the campers to confirm the bonds they developed during the week. While both boys said that their future plans remain what they'd been before, they both confirmed that the came away from RYLA with a better understanding of themselves and more skills that they can apply.
