Greg Peters, president of the River Falls Baseball Council, presented the organization's proposal for using Rotary funds provided from our community grant to improve their organization and to benefit the River Falls community. Greg told the club that Rotary's grant could supplement other funds, both already committed and yet to be raised, to create a practice infield in a location near the current baseball complex around the FNBRF ballpark. Greg said that the funds needed to create the field itself have been raised and that work will be done this spring. Additional funds will be needed for fencing and a backstop. He also noted that there will be an opportunity to acknowledge Rotary's financial contributions to the overall project.

About the Speaker: Greg Peters graduated from St Cloud St with a degree in broadcast journalism, and he worked as a TV news reporter and sports anchor in Minnesota for a few years. He pursued a graduate degree in sports administration and was an assistant athletic director for 6 years, the last two at Bemidji State. Greg took a job with State Farm in 2005, which moved his family to River Falls. He was with State Farm until 2020 and now does life insurance and annuities independently in the winter and roofing and siding storm restoration sales the rest of the year. Greg’s volunteer activities include: columnist for the Pierce County Journal, play-by-play announcer for River Falls Sports on YouTube, and he has volunteered with the River Falls Baseball Council since 2015, and he has been the President of the RFBC since 2018.
Greg and his wife Jenna have been married for 25 years. Jenna is the Director of Curriculum for New Richmond School District. They have 3 daughters: Mattie (22), Ella (19), and Ava (17).
