Rotary presented $1705 to Our Neighbors' Place for the backpack program at Tuesday's meeting. Scott Morrissette led the effort, and members contributed enough for 114 backpacks. Rotary funds provide the program with food during the holiday season.

Since 2010, Our Neighbors’ Place Backpack Program, a partnership with Ezekiel Lutheran Church and the River Falls School District, has provided food to students on weekends during the school year when other resources, such as free and reduced-price school lunches, are not available. The program provides backpacks full of nutritious, kid friendly groceries to kids (K-12) whose families are experiencing financial hardship in the River Falls School District. Distributing over 20,000 pounds of food annually, this program serves an average of 70 hungry children each week.
